The first in-person BASC Symposium to be held since 2020 will take place on February 23 and 24, 2023. This year, the symposium is featuring invited speakers who work at the intersection of atmospheric science, climate science and environmental justice.

Thursday, February 23rd at 3:45 pm in 141 McCone Hall on the UC Berkeley campus (no registration required):

Friday, February 24th from 9 am to 5 pm at the David Brower Center on Allston Way in Berkeley (pre-registration required, breakfast and check-in start at 8 am):

Sunni Ivey, Assistant Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering, UC Berkeley

Robbie Parks - Assistant Professor, Environmental Health Sciences, Columbia University

John Balmes, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, UC Berkeley, and Professor in the Divisions of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) at UCSF.

Poster sessions:

There will also be poster sessions of general interest to atmospheric and climate science researchers. Poster presenters include students, postdocs, and researchers from UC Berkeley and other Bay Area institutions, such as LBNL, LLNL, SJSU, Stanford U, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, and NASA Ames Research Center.

Registration fee for Friday:

The registration fee for the full-day symposium on Friday, which includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages, is $100 (or $10 for undergraduate students).  Here is the registration link:
